I Forced A Bot To Read 1,000 3D Printing Press Releases…

Some advanced computing has done the impossible: generate a 3D printing press release.

We’ve managed to get our hands on some rudimentary machine learning software for text processing and had an idea: what if we pushed a large number of press releases through it? Could the software learn how to write an actual 3D printing press release on its own?

We have no shortage of press releases, as this office receives dozens of press releases daily, most of which deal with some aspect of 3D printing. Some don’t, but that’s another story.

The processing took several days of compute time, where the ML software was repeatedly exposed to the text of around 1,000 genuine 3D printing press releases from various company sources. After this exposure, the software was able to learn the structure and common components of a 3D printing press release.

What then? We could only request that the software produce a press release based on its new knowledge. The result is presented here:
